Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most important questions about recruiting skilled professionals from the Western Balkans
Balkan Recruiters is a specialised agency for placing qualified professionals from the Western Balkans with companies in Germany and across the EU. Our services include recruitment and candidate selection, visa and administrative support, a digital platform for transparent process tracking, and long-term support after placement.
Many people from Bosnia, Serbia and the wider region are looking for a secure future for themselves and their families. They bring a strong work ethic, are ready to integrate quickly, and value the stability and fairness of the labour market in Germany and Austria. Many candidates are looking for long-term prospects rather than short-term jobs.
Professionals from the Western Balkans often bring cultural proximity, strong willingness to learn and, in many cases, basic German skills. Integration into teams is often faster, communication is easier, and visa and recognition procedures are often more manageable than with candidates from more distant regions.
Yes. Many people from the region see their long-term future in the EU. In our selection process, we assess motivation, language skills, willingness to learn and long-term perspective so that employers receive committed professionals with genuine long-term intent.
The timeline depends on the visa category and the professional profile required. In most cases, the full process from signing with us to the candidate's start date takes around 10 to 12 weeks. If you would like to meet candidates in person, we can also organise an on-site casting. Planning and organising a casting with practical tests usually takes around 6 weeks.
Our fees are transparent and success-based, which means you only pay upon successful placement. Costs depend on factors such as the profile you are looking for, the conditions offered and the way candidates are presented, for example via online interviews or on-site casting. We are happy to prepare an individual, non-binding offer.
Yes, professionals from most Western Balkan countries require a work visa for Germany. We provide full support throughout this process, from document preparation and consular appointments to communication with authorities and tracking the application progress.
We place qualified professionals in specialised groups such as electrical engineering and mechanics, transport and logistics, metalworking and welding, automotive mechatronics and electrical trades, IT and software development, engineering, industrial production, construction and installation. We are also happy to review special requests.
We aim to find candidates with at least basic German skills at A1 or A2 level or, alternatively, good English skills. We can also organise language courses so candidates build a stronger foundation before starting work.
Our digital platform creates transparency throughout the recruitment process. Employers can track request status in real time, review candidate profiles, manage documents, communicate with our team and access reporting and progress updates through one central dashboard.
All professionals placed by us receive health insurance. Through our partnership with BARMER, we support the registration process and help ensure coverage starts from the first working day in Germany, so basic medical care is secured from the beginning.
